- What are "Behavioral Health Services"?
This term refers to services for individuals with emotional problems or disorders or substance abuse (e.g., drug or alcohol) problems.

We are a freestanding, not-for-profit, tax-exempt corporation that was formed in 1974 and is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.

We are, as noted above, a completely independent and separate entity, but we are headquartered in a building on the NSH campus.

It is a situation in which an individual is at risk of harming herself/himself or others because of a psychiatric disorder and/or substance abuse.

Diversion assures that individuals with serious behavioral health problems are not inappropriately arrested, detained, or imprisoned.

The term refers to a relationship with the criminal justice system.
- What are behavioral health forensic services?
These are services directed at individuals involved with the criminal justice system who need behavioral health services or who should not be involved with the criminal justice system.
- What is an involuntary hospitalization?
It is an admission without the individual's consent that is necessary to protect their life or health, or both, or to prevent the individiual from harming others.
- What is a "302"?
It is the section of the Mental Health Procedures Act of 1976, as amended, which authorizes involuntary emergency treatment in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
