MCIS provides crisis intervention services in the community with the goal of promoting stability, avoiding hospitalization, and ensuring linkage into the traditional mental health system.
Services are provided regardless of age, race, religion or creed.
MCIS assures that the consumer receives the appropriate treatment and services, with the Montgomery County Emergency Service, Inc. (MCES) as back up 24/7. MCIS licensed by the Department of Public Welfare for individual, team and medical mobile services.
MCIS addresses the needs of those who are suffering from mental health, behavior and substance abuse problems, or who are dually diagnosed. It also offers mobile medical services, referral, conflict resolution, follow-up counseling, case management, forensic diversion, and education and coordination of services with all agencies.
MCIS acts as a liaison or "boundary spanner" between the various agencies that the consumer is involved with to ensure integration of services and optimal care and treatment.
Follow-up may include routine visits for one or two weeks to ensure stability, accessing all available resources with referrals to the mental health system for appropriate treatment.
Other MCIS services include: criminal justice and law enforcement training, community education, county wide crisis intervention services, criminal justice and forensic services, forensic intensive case management services, coordination with:

MCIS also provides intensive case management services to a targeted group of
consumers. Consumers are maintained on the caseload for approximately three
months to ensure stability and integration into the traditional mental health system.

at (610) 279-6100 to assist or determine the need to dispatch the Mobile Crisis
Intervention Team.
